1) Showing Off the Kingdom of Fraeon! -

From the Department of Comic Development

This week, Pixie and I wanted to share with you a sneak peek at the main setting for the first season of our upcoming web-comic Soul Canvas! This is the Kingdom of Fraeon, an extra-dimensional realm full of wondrous creatures, interesting characters, and the main place that our characters will be interacting in our upcoming story. This kingdom has a lot of history that we cannot wait to show you within our weekly updates and the comic itself. When will you be able to read our web-comic? Well, we are happy to announce that our target release window for Soul Canvas is June 2023! We are so excited to bring this story to you and we’ll be giving you more glimpses over the coming development process leading up to its release.

2) The Newest Pixar Movie is a Definite Must-See! –

From the Department of Animated Storytelling

Pixie and I recently saw the brand-new animated film that’s come out of Pixar titled Turning Red. Initially, we didn’t know exactly what to expect from this movie. Pixie and I aren’t too huge of fans of over-the-top humor and, from what the trailer showed, it looked like this movie was going to be chock-full of it. However, upon watching this for the first time, Pixie and I were definitely impressed by how endearing the story and characters were. The humor, conflict, and character development in this film was paced expertly. Turning Red does an exceptional job with telling an interesting story that deals with a girl coming of age, the process of finding out who you are, heavy family expectations, and all the while nailing an emotional relatability that few films can truly accomplish. This movie is the perfect pick for a family night movie as it is a fun, entertaining ride full of deep themes that I think many people can relate to today. Our official Bear & Pixie rating for this movie is a definite 9 out of 10. It is well worth the watch for anyone of any age. You can stream Turning Red on Disney+ if you have a subscription. You can get to the movie by clicking the picture of the poster below. What are you waiting for? You need to see this movie ASAP! We know you wont regret it. [WE ARE NOT SPONSORED BY ANY COMPANY. 3) Artist Shout-Out -

From the Artist Relations Department

For this week’s Artist Shout-Out, we just had to give it to an artist we have been following for a long time, Peter Han. Peter is one of those artists who could draw anything, and it will always look amazing! His line work is always stellar. In each illustration, he finds a way to bring in so many cool design elements that make them unique. My favorites are the ones that are of various fantastical creatures found within a “field journal” of his own design. I think that this is an incredible idea! I would love to do something like this in the future in my own illustration career. So, what are you waiting for? The links to his Instagram and Linktree are below. Make sure to head over there and give him a follow! [We are not sponsored by Peter Han. We are only fans and genuinely wanted to give a shoutout.]

4) The Search for Alien Life Continues! -

From the Extraordinary News Division

Just recently, I read this super fascinating article that detailed out how scientists are on the verge of a potential successful discovery of alien life on exoplanets lightyears away! This topic has always been incredibly interesting to me. As a lover of all things science-fiction, I have often found myself secretly hoping that other life exists out in the universe. Hopefully, these beings would be non-violent of course. Well, this team of scientists are starting to look for signs of abiotic or living life on these different exoplanets. If you want to learn more about this investigation into space for yourself, please check out the link below! One thing’s for sure, I’m hoping this team finds what they’re looking for. [We are NOT sponsored by any news organization. We are just wanting to share something cool with our incredible fans.]

5) A Sci-Fi Fantasy Adventure that Deserves Some Recognition! –

From the Storytelling Division of the Comics Department

A few years ago, I found artist Jake Parker through his YouTube channel. Since then, I have watched all his videos countless times. Through his motivational videos, I found my love of art again and was influenced to start drawing. His videos prepared the way for me to dream of creating my own stories one day. Later, my wife entered my life and, with our shared dreams, are now working towards our shared dream of creating stories together forever. Jake is an artist who seizes each day as continual steps to accomplish his dreams. One of those dreams was this comic, SkyHeart. Unfortunately, when I discovered Jake, I had missed out on being able to fund his original Kickstarter. However, if you are interested in reading this book, you can purchase it in the shop on his website. Please click on the cover image below if you are interested! I got my copy recently and was thoroughly entertained with the book.
