A Secret Spy Hits the Scene!

Greetings Amazing Adventurers!

We’re back at it again with a new newsblog for you to enjoy! Last week, we had some interesting news about a new webcomic we were working on and, in this update, we’ll be showing you all a behind-the-scenes look at it, some great entertainment that you should check out, and some other fun stuff that we’d like to share with you. We hope this newsblog brings some joy and fun into your week!

1) Working on a Brand-New Story -

From the Department of Comic Development

This week, we’re giving you a look at the main character of the brand-new webcomic Ulterior Motive that we are currently working on. His name is Brent Ames and he’s a spy that works for a secret, Illuminati-esque organization called “The Sixth Sector.” The work he does for the Sixth Sector has always not sat quite right with him. However, he’s good at everything the job entails and has always felt like his family needed him to be doing it. The past few years, he’s been so caught up in working with his family in the organization that he’s never had the chance to figure out who he is or what he really wants to do with his life. At 22, as most people his age are starting to graduate, or at least close to it, he feels like he’s behind the proverbial 8-ball in his life. That’s where he is at the start of our story, but things soon change when a mission goes bad and forces him to start taking inventory in his life. Now, he wrestles with whether he wants to be a spy at all and how he hates where he is in his life right now. Suddenly, a person comes into his life that shows him things can be different and he must now figure out a way to change his destiny. Not only that, but he also has to prevent what happened with him to happen with others in his family and in the organization. Will he be up to the task? Also, who’s this mystery person that showed him a new perspective? Find out as we continue to give you regular updates on our webcomic throughout the months leading up to its released right here on this newsblog.

2) 2003 Was a Great Year! –

From the Department of Animated Storytelling

Lately, it seems like I’ve been watching tons of stuff that came out back in 2003! From the TMNT series of that year to Teen Titans as well, 2003 seemed to be a year where tons of creative teams came out with amazing stories for all to be enjoyed. One of those shows was the original series of Ben 10. This show was my absolute jam as a kid. With its stellar dialogue, well-developed characters, and fascinating world, Ben 10 rocketed onto every kid’s TV to huge effect. I have always believed this universe and character could benefit massively from a more serious take on his story as well as a little bit more refinement with his story and universe. If you’re looking for a fun, great series to watch in-between streaming series, then this is a good pick for you. Our overall score for the entire series on a Bear & Pixie scale would be a 8 out of 10. If you feel so inclined, you can watch the whole thing on HBOMax if you have subscription. If you do, you can get there easily by clicking the picture below. [WE ARE NOT SPONSORED BY ANY COMPANY. We are only giving you a genuine, un-sponsored recommendation.]

3) Artist Shout-Out -

From the Artist Relations Department

Our pick for this week’s Artist Shout-Out goes to the amazing Lorenzo Etherington! Lorenzo is quite famous online for creating the How to Think When You Draw tips and books and, with his brother, creating the How to Think When You Write books and tips. Lorenzo’s art is top notch with expert line work. Each drawing Lorenzo makes is chock full of life and realism that lots of artists struggle to capture. His art is worth a follow alone but, if you’re ever wanting to learn how to draw yourself, Lorenzo’s Instagram has got lots of tips and tricks that I think you might find useful for your own artistic endeavors so head on over to give them your follow! Right now, Lorenzo has a Kickstarter out to that collects a bunch of his drawing tips and tricks into volumes of books. If you would like, there are also bundles that combine his brother’s writing tips and tricks along with them. Please consider backing their Kickstarter as it is the last day to back it and get in on that action as well. They are well-deserving of all the support we can give them and then some. [We are not sponsored by Lorenzo. We are only fans and genuinely wanted to give a shoutout.]

4) Lost City Discovered in the Amazon! -

From the Fascinating News Division

Just recently, I saw this incredible article on Vice.com that was reporting on how the ruins of an ancient civilization covered by dense vegetation in the Amazon has recently been mapped using lasers to discover a lost city within its deep jungles. It’s so crazy to me how we can still have so many undiscovered places and things within our vast world even with all the amazing discoveries and leaps forward in technology as well as science. Articles like these always make me wonder what else is out there on our planet, waiting to be discovered. Interested in getting mor information on this lost city in particular? Check out the article in the link below! [We are NOT sponsored by any news organization. We are just wanting to share something cool with our incredible fans.]

5) Still on the Platformer Craze! –

From the Creative Gaming Department

As I continue to play through more platformers in my spare time, I was recommended another platformer called Celeste that I am delighted to report is an amazing game! If you’re wanting a platformer to play that has real challenge, a great story, and fun gameplay, then look no further than this game right here! On the Bear & Pixie rating, it is most definitely a solid 9 out of 10. You can check out this masterpiece by clicking on the link below if you so choose. Regardless, this game is worth purchasing no matter what anybody else says. [We are NOT sponsored by any company. We are only giving a genuine recommendation.]
